Arab-Israeli Wars

I picked up a batch of micro-armour suitable for the Arab Israeli Wars, I've been very interested in doing some Cold War era gaming for a while. I'm torn between 70-80s Europe and 68-73 Arab-Israeli Wars. I'm kind of doing both - the Israelis are Centurions (Sho't) and M48s (Magach) and M3s. There is also an out of scale Super Mystere flying overwatch. On the Arab side I have done T-55s and BMPs in Russian green, along with a BTR-152 and Shilka, so they could double as Syrians in the Golan theatre of 1973 or be pressed into Soviet service as second echelon divisions for Fulda Gap or some other scenario.

This stuff is just gorgeous - there is nothing better until you get to 1-72, and then it's close.

Two bases of Foundry Gendarmes for my DBA-RRR project - these will be in the service of Maximillian.

Dwarf Warband

I picked up these handsome fellows up in a swap meet last year. I painted them over the last couple of weeks, might run them out next week using either Song of Blades or GW-LOTR against goblins and trolls in a Moria setting.

Landsknechts!

I have tucked away a large assortment of Italian Wars by Foundry and others. Decided to finally dig them out. Over the last two weeks I painted my first few stands of landsknechts - here are 4 bases of pikes and two bases of skirmishers. They are time consuming to paint, but are they ever purdy to look at! I love Foundry stuff...

I'm workings towards a pair of armies to play DBA-RRR. These will be mercenaries in the employ of Maximillian.

Microarmor for 1944

Here is a batch of 1944 Germans to fill out the first scenario of a MarketGarden series of games I will run at the club over the next year or so. The hetzers are standing in for Pzjd IVs...shhh... Infanty are mostly Adler, rest are GHQ.

Dice bargain at Value Village!

Yesterday I found a bargain at the 34th Ave Value Village thrift store when I was rummaging around with the kids - a bag of 50 high quality assorted polyhedral dice for $5! Whoo-hoo! I picked up one bag and there were two others on the shelf in the toy section when I left.

Now, I suppose I don't really need all these lovely dice....but you can never have too many, and they normally go for a buck each or so.

This one is a bit of a mystery - anybody know what this icon on the 6-face represents? The other sides have normal pips.

Romans done, 6mm moderns

Just finished the forces for two of the Roman Civil War CCA scenarios pitting Caesar vs Pompey. Here we have some medium legions, light cavalry and commanders.

And also some modern microarmor that I picked up at a club auction a little while back. Here we have some some Sheridans done in my first attempt at NATO 3-colour camo scheme. I have always wanted to do some Cold War stuff, mid 80s central Europe, but I have not yet found scenarios or rules that work for me. Suggestions welcomed!
