Walk like a New Kingdom Egyptian

I've had this Old Glory 15mm NKE DBA army sitting in a box forever, so I decided to paint it up for my MayDay tournament entry. Unfortunately, it turns out that holidays plans conflict with MayDay - so all for naught. Except of course, I now have another army to play with.

NKE is very well balanced, under 3.0 it will be interesting to play. Nimble, with fast blades and light chariots, and formidable against mounted with the 4 bow elements supported by a solid blade.

Russian Grenadiers in Greatcoats

Here we have a box of Strelets Napoleonic Russian Grenadiers in greatcoats with 4 additional commander from their officer box. This gives me enough stands to run the first CCN scenario from the Russian expansion

Punic Wars commanders

The last of my Punic Wars stuff is here, 28mm command stands for Carthage and Rome, based for DBA. Figs are by Gripping Beast, shield transfers from VVV.

Russian artillery battery

Here we have a 1/72 Russian Napoleonic artillery battery. Figs are from Zvezda and are outstanding (even if the painting is not!). I think I just have some Guard infantry and commanders to do and then will be ready to run some CCN games.

Punic ancients

Some miscellaneous stuff here, not a lot done in the last week while I was in Ottawa for grant selection duty. A few more stands of hastati, one of caetratus and a couple of stands of Italian allies. In the background is EvilCat.

Napoleonic Cossacks

Here we have a dozen Cossacks based individually for CCN - these are 1/72 figs from Hat. Crude, but hey, they're Cossacks! I think their use adds an interesting dimension to CCN gameplay.

US Army Vietnam

A test stand of 15mm Battlefront American Rifle Infantry. I like the sculpts, nice detail and character. I have a platoon of US infantry and M113s as well as Vietcong and NVA regulars to play with.

I dropped about $150 on this stuff after I picked up two perfectly scaled die-cast UH-1s at Target for $5 each on Boxing Day while shopping for toys with the kids. I have a good scenario in mind that appears in the Arc of Fire rulebook to run sometime in 2015.
