8th ed 40k!

So I joined the herd and picked up the new edition of Warhammer 40k, I only bought the rules and the Index for Imperial Guard:

And here is a Sentinel - came in a job lot so I had to improvise on some parts such as the stacks, but I think it came out okay. I also did two more Gothic buildings for various genres of gaming one is shown here:

  1. Wow! Have you played 40K before? If so, how do the rules look compared to previous editions. I played the original 40K rogue trader back in the '80s but then quit. I picked up the 7th edition rules a year or so ago because some of the kid's friends showed an interest and I thought it might be something we could all play together. We only played once or twice, so I'm not sure I want to drop another $100 or so to pick up ANOTHER new set of rules...

  3. Hi Tim, the 8th edition rules are considerably streamlined and resemble Age of Sigmar by no coincidence. I think this is a good thing - they are very accessible and easy to pick up. Of course, if you want your army lists, then you have to pay! GW gives the core rules away but not the other stuff, but if you can come up with proxy army lists & stats from an old codex you could play for free.
