Here are 10 hobilars with longbows from the Old Glory War of the Roses range, I did these with Lion Rampant in mind to fight my Scots, but they could also be pressed into service in the HYW project that had been in planning for some time. Nice figs - one of Old Glory's better ranges.

Bit of this and that
This week I worked on some fantasy stuff that was hiding in the cupboard and some modern Soviet microarmour that I obtained in a swap and have been restoring. I added some GW high elves to my army in anticipation of trying out Kings of War next week:
A lovely Citadel dragon that might feature in my Elven army:
I even found this weird wizard drgon rider dude - I think he was by Grenadier and came with an undead dragon I painted some time ago
And BTR-80s, BMPs, T-80s and some mobile artillery:

Angry Scots
Here we have a horde of angry Scottish medieval spearmen. 36 in fact, enough for 3 yeoman spear units for Lion Rampant to face Eddie Longshanks. Figs are mostly Old Glory 25/28s. I like them - lots of character. Even tried my hand at a few bits of tartan.

1980s Bundeswehr microarmour
Here are a bunch of refurbished job lot Marders, M47s and M109s in early Bundeswehr Gelboliv paint with accompanying infantry. Part of the ongoing Cold War gone hot project - these would represent territorials or reservists. The two-part GHQ decals were a complete PITA to apply.

Cold War gone hot air support
Some time ago I ordered a bunch of 1980s vintage air support for Cold War Europe wargames - these are 1/600 models by Tumbling Dice ordered from Dom's Decals. They are very nice, and I prefer to look of aircraft that are smaller scale than the ground troops - in this case intended for 1/285 micro armour stuff. These are lovely little planes - very fun to paint for a change. I used rare earth magnets to mount them on removable flight stands.

Vietnam stuff - Viet Cong, terrain and M113s
I have been away for a bit, but before I left I painted a platoon of Viet Cong and some M113s to do a scenario found in the Arc of Fire rulebook that describes the attempt to rescue a downed helicopter crew in unfriendly territory. I also managed to pick up some of the very nice GF9/Battlefront terrain on sale - rice paddies and huts. I added some water effects to the rice paddies. Nice stuff overall.
Thinking of trying Force on Force for the scenario next week at the local club night.
